Video of my Glastonbury 2016 now available.
What a blast Glastonbury was!! Yes, plenty of mud and sore legs from the miles walked but it was over so quickly you know you had a good time. I’m so grateful to Pony from Small World Stage for giving me the chance to fulfil one of my ambitions and play at Glastonbury Festival, it really was very special for me and I hope I get the chance to do it again in the years to come. Playing mainly my own songs is a rare occurrence so it was lovely to share them with other people and also get a recording for the first time of some of them.
One of my other highlights of the festival was seeing ‘Show of Hands’ play again. They were wonderful and I even met by chance Steve from the band at the instrument store in the green fields. He was a really nice guy and if you haven’t heard of them please check out their website here to listen to their songs; the one on the home page ‘The Game Keeper’ is so beautifully written and evokes such poignancy I can only aspire to such talent. Every song they played was brilliant but a few favourites from their show were ‘Be Lucky’, ‘Roots’ and ‘The Blind Fiddler’ and I can’t wait to see them again. I love the stories told through their songs and relate to the lines in ‘Roots’ about a particular pub standard!
I was also very glad and grateful to have the chance to play with a friend of mine, Will Pike, and perform one of our mutual friend’s, Roy Hudson’s, songs. If you’d like to see how the set went then you’re in luck as I managed to video it and it’s available on the video page link above or you can click here. I’d love to know what you think of it so please drop me a message through the website or facebook.
